Below, is a scripture from Genesis. While I was driving home, GOD put this story on my heart.
Genesis 32:1-26 (please take 5 minutes to read and digest)
I know, I am not the only one that has been struggling with my purpose.
That moment when you are seeking your purpose, but all you feel and see is pain.
The pain (financial burdens, true worth, loss identity, etc)
The purpose (Financial Freedom, Less stress, True Joy)
I am here to tell you that "The struggle is REAL!"
As I reread this scripture, there was a sense of peace that overcame me.
After Jacob sent everyone away from him, he was alone and able to spend time with GOD.
This is deep to me because I had to ask myself, when have you had alone time with only GOD and yourself. I realize that I have not taken the time to talk to him about my struggle with his purpose that he has on my life.
We have to acknowledge where we are in our life. We also, have to make alone time to talk to GOD.
This time will allow GOD to speak to your heart and bring clarity to your situation in life.
Then the scripture said he was visited in his alone time by a man (GOD) and struggle with the man till daybreak with a hurt hip, that he acquired through the struggle.
But, get this: Jacob did not give up. When the man asked him to let go, Jacob's response was not until you bless me will I let go.
Wow, how often are we letting go before we receive our blessings?
How often do we give into depression and others opinions?
Are you allowing the pain to overshadow the struggle GOD needs you to go through?
The man asked him, “What is your name?”
“Jacob,” he answered.
28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[f] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”
Wow, the struggle is real, but the blessings are well worth it through the pains you are dealing with.
GOD knows what you are going through. But, you have to acknowledge and accept the pain to get to your blessing.
So, do not get weary in your good doing. GOD sees and hears your humble cry. But, with each sleepless night and disappointing day. We have to remember we can not let go until GOD gives us our blessings.
