SMAART #8 THIS SATURDAY @ 730pm
Do you recall the first time you heard advertisements for the Million Man March? Or the first time you heard Martin Luther King? Can you recall how you felt after witnessing Barack Obama become president in 2008?
Each one of these moments are special, special because they represent moments that transformed black history in America. Since the reconstruction blacks in Texas and across the country have been fighting a never ending war for respect and equality.
After almost 150 years of being freed from chains, our people still feel the stings of income and racial inequality daily. Our leaders within and without the NAACP have made valiant efforts at trying to win this war, but have repeatedly come up short.
Now, this year in 2017 we stand at the dawn of an unique opportunity to achieve what they couldn’t. Never before has the fruit of victory been so ripe and within our grasp. Using technology harnessed from the cloud and the new mobile economy, we have finally leveled the playing field. The deck is no longer stacked and the jar is without a lid.
This Sat in honor of Juneteeth, we will unveil to you, the NAACP and all of Houston a powerful new platform. A platform that will challenge they way you think, shop and support black.
