NAACP ECONOMIC COMMITTEE | HOUSTON
The economic development committee of the NAACP Houston - is an eclectic group of Houston's most talented and committed entrepreneurs. The group is chaired by J.Allen Provost, a conflict resolution specialist, Chief NAACP Facilitator for the SMAART Incubator program, and a board member of Houston Media Resource.
On the first Monday of every month at 6pm the committee meets to devise actions plans and strategies on how to create growth opportunities for black entrepreneurs in Houston. Meetings are held @ 2002 Wheeler, Houston, TX 77004.
Goal Of The Economic Committee
THE GOAL OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE IS TO PROMOTE THE GROWTH OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND EXPAND ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AMONG AFRICAN AMERICAN AND OTHER COMMUNITIES OF COLOR BY:

RESEARCHING AND ESTABLISHING RELATIONSHIPS WITH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC ENTITIES; SUPPORTING THE WORK OF THE NATIONAL OFFICE OF THE NAACP IN MONITORING THE PROGRESS AND ACTIVITY OF PRIVATE AND PUBLIC ENTITIES DESIGNATED BY NATIONAL PROGRAMS; AND IMPLEMENTING LOCAL EFFORTS TO PROMOTE THE GROWTH OF BUSINESS OWNERSHIP; INCREASING EMPLOYMENT AND JOB CREATION; AND ENCOURAGING BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND HOME OWNERSHIP.
